14.08 Bar Chart Map Type

Bar Chart Map Type

The bar chart map type is similar to the pie chart map type in that a bar chart is displayed on top of each area. The difference between the two is that the bar chart doesn’t show a percentage of the whole. Instead, each bar shows a scalar representation of each value. Just like a typical bar chart, taller bars represent larger values. Bar chart types are also useful for showing values as they change over time. For example, you could see whether the sales in an area have improved over the past decade.

Just like the pie chart, use the On Change Of property on the Data tab to specify which field to use for mapping the x-axis (e.g. product type, date, etc.).
